Our client holds an annual summer party for their hardworking staff and asked us to find an outside location for around 120 people, preferably in London or within an hour’s drive of their office. They wanted a fun and competitive theme for the day – different to those we had arranged previously which included a “Game of Thrones” themed day, outdoor festival with fairground plus dragon boat racing on the River Thames. There also needed to be fun and relaxing activities for any staff that did not wish to take part. Catering needed to include coffee and bacon rolls on arrival, BBQ lunch, free flowing bar throughout the afternoon and a visit from an ice cream van, finishing around 4pm. And of course a wet weather contingency!

We booked a fun day at “The Park Club” in nearby Acton, a superb venue we have used previously and very accommodating for outside events with an excellent catering team. We hired a football pitch and transformed it into “It’s a Knockout” arena with marquee and  also additional chill-out area. Upon arrival guests were split into pre-arranged teams and each given a coloured branded t-shirt. The sun shone while guests got covered in soap and bubbles and slipped there was along the variety of inflatables. At lunchtime, a BBQ was served and guests were seated on picnic tables both inside the marquee and outside in the sun.

A chill-out marquee housed several masseurs offering massages and beauty treatments plus a selection of beanbags, blankets and cushions for people to relax.  Garden games and inflatable human table football were available throughout the day and we hired a tennis court and provided rackets and balls for anyone that wished to play.  Changing rooms and high quality mobile toilets were also hired as well as the all-important ice cream van laden with a huge range of ice cream and slush!

During the afternoon, up-and-coming artist Zak Abel and his band arrived to sing live to the group before they departed on return transport back to the office.
